Mark Sloan Blankenship

From the Greensboro paper:

"Mr. Mark Sloan Blankenship, 41, of 23-B Park Village Lane, died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at his residence.

Mark was a native of Greensboro. He was a manufacturers (sic) representative for Richard K. Hunter Company. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Elks Lodge. Mark loved his family and friends. He graduated from Page High School and Alamance Community College with a HVAC degree.

He is survived by his parents, Mack Blankenship, Jr. and Joann Sloan Blankenship of Greensboro; brother, Mack Blankenship III and wife, Lynn of Kernersville; sister, Malinda Lynch and husband, Kevin of Randleman; one nephew, Carl Blankenship and two nieces, Laura Blankenship and Katelyn Lynch."

He is buried in Lakeview Memorial Park.

It was really a shame to lose Mark so suddenly. Mark will be remembered as a tremendous human being and friend by many of us. I'm sure he would have loved to see this reunion coming together the way it is.

Mark was as genuine a person as you could hope to meet. What a loss to our class.

It was a real shock when I heard about Mark's passing. I will never forget his infectuous laugh, it made me laugh. What a great friend to many. Mark, buddy, you are missed.
