Although we lived in the same neighborhood, she passed away so long ago that, sadly, some of the more subtle memories have faded. One of the most vivid is from a speech class at UNC. She spoke about why women took so long to get ready for dates. Needing assistance, she asked me. Meticulously she proceeded to apply all sorts of different make-up on my face, lips, and around my eyes!

Not surprisingly her presentation was a hit with our classmates. Whether giving speeches or hanging out with friends, Keely always was a hit. Quick to laugh, she often made us feel much funnier than we really were. Unfortunately she and her good natured charm left us far too soon.

She sat in front of me in French Class... We go all the way back to Aycock!
I miss her too! Her obit in the newspaper threw me for a loop... I was in shock! I remember the last time I saw her was at Dadio's (1981?)... she was with friends... Guys kept asking her to dance & she turned them down. Then after about 3 turn-downs, she said yes & the crowd started clapping! Keely was amazing!
Keely left us WAY too soon!!!!
