I have been lucky to have lived in several different places since graduating from UNC-CH, including San Jose CA and near Cambridge, England. Most of my time after graduating has been in the Washington DC metro area, which is where I am now with my family.

I have worked for a big company, then a start-up company, then for myself, all in the area of creating software people use to control spacecraft. In December 2010 I took a full time job with the National Geographic Society in Washington DC. This is a departure from developing software for satellite control; now I am helping out behind-the-scenes of the TV production group making sure there is a way to keep track of the various bits of video that feed into the shows you see on the National Geographic channel.

March 2018 Update: My wife Andrea is still teaching middle school math. I am still at Nat Geo, but am now working on the for-profit side so technically I work for Fox, and if all goes well, Disney soon. In 2012 I won the employee talent show for a magic act. Since being at Nat Geo I have gotten to meet Buzz Aldrin, James Cameron, and LeVar Burton. I only wanted a picture of LeVar because you can't disappoint a picture. tm Troy

I am also a part-time grad student at George Washington studying Data Science. I am hoping for one more career adventure before Social Security kicks in.

Our older son Alec graduated from UVA and is a software developer in Silicon Valley working for Apple. Joseph is a freshman at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA studying Computer Science.

There are far too many high school stories to fit into this space. Four Page memories that stand out: 1) Mr. Banks' history class, 2) Being on the Pages by Page staff, especially when we did the parody of the G school's newspaper, 3) Having a part (non-singing, which the audience appreciated) in Candide, 4) Giving the booster speech for Audrey Evans our senior year. I think Audrey was a very special person.
