School Story:
Mr. Bryant's Class
Term Paper Topic Approval Status: Approved
Lessons Learned: Engage Brain before speaking.
After reading an article about Professor Steven Hawking and his Big Bang theory I decided that my term paper in Tony Bryants class should be about the lofty subject of Black Holes.
Our instructions were that we were to have the topic approved by him by a certain date. As was usual for me at the time, at the last minute I approached he and Ms. Gorham, (who was my teacher also, and whom I thought a lot of) in the doorway of the classroom. I thought this topic was really wonderful so I proudly announced that my paper was to be about "Black Holes".
Mr. Bryants face which had been calm and at ease immediately contorted and he began repeating the Term Paper Topic over and over...and over and over in a voice that expressed complete shock and bewilderment!
Ms. Gorham (who had read the article it turned out) started laughing hysterically. This further flustered Mr. Bryant, who by now could not speak.
Needless to say, the level of personal attention that I received from Mr. Bryant after this was greatly beneficial to me in the long term! :)
Later when my wife began teaching at Page I learned that they worked together very well and were good friends, which I thought was a great thing!
I asked her if he remembered having me as a student?. (Having a long last name and all.)
Her answer: Oh Yes, he remembers you very well!
