David Bagwell

VENTURA COUNTY, CA — David Kevin Bagwell, 44, of Greensboro, died Thursday, November 19, 2009, in Ventura County, California.

David was a graduate of Page High School, earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from N.C. A&T State University, and received an MBA from Pepperdine University. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Order of the Arrow brotherhood.

David spent 8 years in the U.S. Army Infantry, served as a long-range reconnaissance squad leader in Panama, and was a member of the White House Army Honor Guard from 1982-1986 under President Reagan.

An active community leader and volunteer, David was a member of Moorpark Rotary Club and Boys & Girls Club of Moorpark, California. He was the owner of Bagwell Construction Services and had 25 years of experience in construction management and business.

David is survived by his daughters, Katie and Emily Bagwell of Moorpark, Calif.; parents, Will and Nancy Bagwell of Reidsville; brothers and sisters, Ray and Pam Bagwell of Apex, Terri Bagwell Roberts of Greensboro, and Rob Bagwell of Concord; nephews and niece, Jeremy, Ben and Ashley Bagwell, Damon and Jordan Roberts; and grandparents Lee and Garnet Suttles of Greensboro.

David loved his family, his friends, his country, and his community.

In lieu of flowers or memorial contributions, please spend time with family and friends. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
