Brother John Manson Cockerham (11/4/1943-10/5/2020) passed away at the age of 76 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on October 5th, 2020, from a neurological disorder related to Parkinson's disease.

John was born in Greenville, Mississippi, and graduated from Greenville High School in 1961.  John attended Mississippi State University from 1961 until graduating in engineering in 1966.  He then attended Texas A&M University, graduating with a Masters of Industrial Engineering in 1968.  While at Mississippi State University, John was instrumental in the founding of the Delta Chi Fraternity chapter there.

John and his first wife, Jane Wade, had one son, John Ripley Cockerham, who died October 29, 2002, in Atlanta.  John and his second wife, Jackie Clift, had a daughter, Stacy Anne Cockerham who lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and with his third wife, Lynette Lipscomb, had a son, Clayton Allen Cockerham, living in Fort Worth, TX, and a daughter, Lynsey Ann Cockerham, living in Huntsville, AL.

John's son, Clayton, attended Jacksonville State University in Alabama where he was a member of Delta Chi Fraternity.  Clayton's email address is cockeca@gmail.com for anyone wanting to reach out to him.

John was legendary at Mississippi State University.  No one who ever met him will ever forget him.  Probably the best known man on campus because John's dark maroon (Mississippi State school colors) 1962 Ford Galaxie 500XL convertible was the envy of every guy on campus - particularly at homecoming, when John was always asked to drive the homecoming queen in the parade.

John was always upbeat, enthusiastic and hard charging.  He was a handsome guy, a snappy dresser, and always charmed the ladies.

He will always be missed and remembered.  Our heartfelt condolences to each of his children.  I posted a few pictures (black and white- you should have seen it in color) at this tribute website.
