Jan Paul Webb Obituary (1943 - 2023) | Pearl, Mississippi (echovita.com)

It was just about 2 months ago, March 25 (both Jerry's and my Dad's Birthday).  Judy and Paul drove to Memphis, from Pearl, MS, to see yet another great performance at Lafayette's Music Room by the Kattawar Brothers.

THE KATTAWAR BROTHERS | Live Music Memphis Tonight | Memphis Live Music Calendar (wearememphis.com).

As usual, it was packed with Standing Room ONLY!  I remember Paul's asking me why no one else from the Class of 1961 was there, and I responded, 'beats me'.  The music, food and Marguerita's were GREAT, for SURE.  Our total cost, Sarah & I, for 2 ~ $93, + parking ($5); say $98; but, it was well worth it.  SUPER show.

We saw Judy Kattawar, Millie Kattawar, Mike Jr and Ashly Rose (violinist & part of The Kattawar Brothers "show").  Ya'll missed a great show.   Might be able to locate a video of it on the internet-maybe Lafayette's keeps recordings of their shows, but I do not know.  Here's a YouTube video about a year earlier Kattawar Brothers at Lafayette's Music Room - Memphis, TN - YouTube

It was VERY sad to see that Paul was experiencing some obvious declining-health issues. Paul loved Elvis (picture of Elvis on his bed's headboard), and drag-race cars.  I remember a Corvette that he raced, lving the line with engine rpms 8,500, + the front wheels were several feet off the pavement; a screaming start, so to speak.  Paul owned for a while, a black 1957 Chevy BelAir convertible with a BIG block-502 engine (just in case someone riding beside him thought he had a quicker machine).  Paul had lots of friends and will be missed by every one who knew him-NO doubt !  I call him the epitome of kindness, loyalty and sincerity.  Give him a 5-star rating, if there is such a thing.  I never had a brother, but if I had one, I'd want my brother to be just like Paul, "Good People" (SAD here and holding back tears). jgw

Marylyn, Terry, I am so sorry to learn of Jan's (Paul) homegoing.  I never called him Paul, only Jan!  We were neighbors as y'all know.  Good memories of those days!

I was very sad to get the email about Jan's (Paul) passing. Not only did I go through 12 years of school with Jan and Margaret Jo Fulmer, but we grew up as children within two blocks of each other. The last time that I was in Greenville was in 2011 to visit an elderly aunt. Margaret was going to be there from Memphis to visit a family member, and Jan came to Greenville to meet us for lunch. It was a sweet time of being together after so many years. Lots of good memories. I am thankful that they were both in my life.
