MEMORIAL photos:

The following was read at the memorial by our classmate Major Robert L. Berry, U.S. Air Force (retired):

The original Purple Heart was established by George
Washington, the Commander-in-Chief of the
Continental Army on August 7, 1782. The order that
established this military award included this phrase,

"Let it be known that he who wears the military order
of the purple heart has given his blood in the defense
of his homeland and shall forever be revered by his
fellow countrymen."

As one of my brothers in arms and as one of our
fellow classmates, we thank you for your service to our
country. We will revere you forever. You have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom and for that, "I salute
you!"
