So sorry to hear about everybody's good friend, Jerry. Haven't seen him in many years, but I remember him as smart as a whip, good golfer, and a very nice gentleman.

After reading Jerry's abutuary.  He would have made a better president than anyone running, past and present.  What an amazing man.  Doug

E. E. Bass Yannigans.  Was wondering how in the world our football team was called "Yannigans".  Did a little research and found out that a Yannigan is a small hornet.  Thus appropriately our team was called "small hornet" or "Yannigans".

In my research, a yannigan is a member of a scub team meaning a kind of rookie. Have never come a across the wasp definition.

I think Benji is right, Coach Dunaway always called me that, and I thought it was because I was the 7th string fullback

I'm still trying to remember, or find someone else who remembers, the junior high pledge.  All I can remember is that it ended, "...to leave this place better than I found it."   Anyone?  Bueller?  Bueller?

This is a very rare 1959 photo of GHS cheerleaders at Murphy Stadium (behind Bass), and that is Lanelle on the right as the freshman cheerleader representing the class of 63. May she rest in peace;  Benjy Nelken

Thank you for this picture. She was a cheerleader all 4 years but the only pictures I have are in the Vespa. You & her were class favorites.

I am so sorry and surprised to hear about Neil Bone! Can anyone tell me what happened? Strange, but I've had him in my mind a lot lately and intended to call him. When are services? I'm in Texas and won't return until next Sunday. I hate to miss them.

Hey, y'all. We've lost another dear friend from our class. We really need to plan a reunion of some sort for later this year or next. 2023 will be 60 years! We're not getting any younger, and we really need to get together! It doesn't need to be anything fancy or difficult to organize. No need for dances, just a nice meeting place for dinner would suffice. What do y'all think?

So sorry to hear about Nell Bone's passing. He was a great guy.  Always there for all of us. The world was a better place because Nell was here.  He is in a better place where peace reins.  We are grateful for you Nell. Love and pryers to his family.

I remember breaking Neil's arm in a tackling drill with the Yannigans.  He was a good friend.
