Cois Garland Hallman Jr.

Cois (Gary) Hallman Jr., age 73, passed away at Delta Health Medical Center on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. Visitation will be held Monday, March 20th at Mortimer Funeral Home at 10 am followed by the service at 11 am. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Gary was born on November 27, 1949 to Loree and Cois (Buddy) Hallman Sr. in Greenville, MS. He was the oldest of seven children. He was a graduate of Greenville High School and served in the United States Army for 2 years. He furthered his education at MS Delta Community College and Holmes Community College. Gary worked on the River for 45 years and retired from Ingram Barge Company as Chief engineer. When He retired he spent his time being Santa at the mall and other venues. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and being outdoors.

He is preceded in death by his parents Loree and Buddy Hallman Sr., 2 brothers Ricky Hallman and John Hallman.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Hoover Hallman of Leland, MS of 48 years. Three daughters, Angela Norsworthy (Leon) of Gonzales, La., Lynsey Hallman (Jeff) of Greenville, MS and Neely Hallman of Greenville, MS. 2 Brothers: David Hallman (Priscilla) of Portland, Oregon and William Hallman (Joanie) of Greenville, MS. 2 Sisters: Judy Lewis (Tommy) of Brandon, MS and Allyson Vance of Greenville, MS.

He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Zachary and Cameron Barrow of Gonzales, La, Tyler Norsworthy of Gonzales, La and Isabella Norsworthy of California, Leia Hallman, Hunter Ford and Emma Ford of Greenville, MS, and a host of nieces and nephews and a special friend of the family and his home health nurse Julia Pickett.
