School Story
I guess my favorite school story was the night Danny Wood, Bill Prevost and myself decided to sneak down to the national guard armory to watch the sub deb initiation. I guess I sneaked out of the house after midnight and picked them up and we were on our way to walnut street. We couldn't figure out how to get on top of the building. decided to walk behind the levee and the cops shined a spotlight on us and told us to freeze. They let us go with a stern warning about trespassing.
The there was the time probably about six of us went to memphis to a concert ( i am guessing Ronnie Pope, Warren Harper, myself, maybe Dave Parkerson, Ronnie Peoples, Randy Yarbrough , or Chip weathers). we cruised out on summer and went through a drive in , cut off a cutless and someone in our car shot them the bird. i was driving. Anyway, about 3 really big guys in the cutless were along side of us in a minute cussing us out and and some guys in our car were egging them on. We hit parkway and turned south. the next thing i knew , we hit a stop light and one of them jumped in the car with us, popped about 2 guys and told me to pull over. I knew if i did that we were all gonna get beat to smithereens. anyway I drove down parkway and spotted a fire station on union and pulled in. The guy got scared and jumped out and hauled butt. i guess we were lucky.
