Stanley Ray Abbott

A Memorial Service for Stanley (Guru Man) Abbott, age 77 of Bonham, TX will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Wise Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham, TX. Officiating will be Rev. Mike Burt. Stanley passed away on August 10, 2018. He was born September 21, 1940 in Greenville, Texas to Early Raymond Abbott & Jessie Geraldine Kinkaid Abbott.

Stanley, AKA "Guru Man" sold his first car at 14 and continued in Auto Sales for most of his adult life. Stanley served in the US Marines during Vietnam. Stanley married Loraine (Lori) Ruth Harvey on September 9, 1989 in Carrollton, TX.   He enjoyed finding ways to make money on the computer and loved going to Chocktaw and Winstar. He was generous to a fault.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Early Raymond Abbott & Geraldine Abbott Shofner; sisters, Betty Lindsey and Mary Nalls; brothers-in-law, Derwood Nalls, Bill Craig and Billy O'Pry; nephews, B.K. Craig and Larry Nalls.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Lori Abbott; two sons, Stanley Ray Abbott Jr. and fiancé Christine of Dallas, TX and Jason Ward Abbott of Carrollton, TX; two grandchildren, Maximus and Jason Abbott; sister, Dorothy Craig of Greenville, TX, Barbara O'Pry of Grand Prairie, TX; brother, James Abbot of Slidell, LA.; special grandchildren, Nancy and Stanley Montalvo.
