NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Jodi Lynn Ball, 38, of 151 M-35, Negaunee Township ended her courageous fight against melanoma on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Marquette General Hospital under the care of Lake Superior Hospice surrounded by her family and friends who were honored to be part of her journey.

Jodi was born on September 15, 1974 to Bruce D. and Delight Hill at the Bell Memorial Hospital. Jodi married the love of her life, Kurt E. Ball on August 8, 1998. Jodi and Kurt have two children, Nathan and Ashley, who are at home. Jodi was employed by MARESA since July, 1997. Positions she held there, were secretary to the Early On Coordinator, secretary to the Director of Special Education, and most recently, Assistant to the Superintendent.

Jodi had numerous interests: She loved family times, especially when she could go to Tigers games, camping trips, traveling, and hunting with family. She was active in the Negaunee Township Fire Department. She also loved being involved in Big Brothers/Big Sisters, in fund raising activities and special education. Since being diagnosed with melanoma in 2011, Jodi has shared her courageous journey through her blog: The Amazing Brain. (www.ballfamily49866blogspot.com). Through her blog and her desire to help others, she has shown incredible strength and courage, she has inspired others "TO BELIEVE!" She was always grateful for the support and acts of kindness that she received. Her determination was inspiring to many.
