I had become aware of the passing of Mr Rehak some time after the fact. I had the utmost respect for him and thought of him as my friend. If it had not been for Mr Rehak's influence, while I was in grade 10 accounting, to take his grade 11 Business Computer Science course the following year, I doubt that I would have had the career path that I chose and for which dictated my adult life. It was he that saw something in me that told him that my direction should be towards computing, programming, design, development, etc. While attending our graduation from Scott Park back in 1974, I was given many awards, but the McBee Data Processing award given to me by Mr. Rehak was of more significance to me than even my high school diploma.

After completing four years at McMaster doing a combined major degree in Pure Math and Computer Science, I took the time to go back to our high school, find Mr Rehak and thank him for how much he had given me.

Greatness can be as simple as a guiding light and providing the tools to find the way ..... This was Mr. Rehak.
