About Me .......

I have always had an appreciation for fine art and have collected maritime art for many years.  After I retired, I started to paint in oils.  I  opened MRK Gallery in Port Jefferson, short lived, but a great introduction into the art community.  Oil painting has enriched my life and brought me peace, excitement and new friendships.

    My inspiration and encouragement to paint came from Paul R. Hee (a maritime artist who I admired).  Since starting on my oil painting career, I have become a member of many artist organizations and made acquaintances with some extremely talented artists  from whom I continue to grow through  discussions and various techniques and critiques.

    I have entered many exhibitions and have received recognition awards which keep my mind and interest at it's peak.

     My work can be found in private collections, museums and gallery exhibitions locally and along the East Coast.

     I'm a member of The Art League of Long Island, Huntington Arts Council, Smithtown Township Arts Council, Southhampton Artists Association, Suburban Art League and a member of Long Island Museum, LIM Arts, Guild Hall, Water Mill Museum and Setauket Neighborhood House.  I've been fortunate enough to have won many awards.
