Obituary for Jill Person

Jill Sonia Person transcended this life on May 27. Jill was the beloved wife of Donald Person, and mother of Eric and Rachel Person. She was predeceased by her parents, Rosalie Stern Strausman and Albert Strausman, and brother Paul Strausman.
As the founder and president of A Gentle Wind Jill created music and stories that imparted beauty, positive values, and a sense of wonder to a generation of children. Throughout her professional life, Jill was a friend and mentor to many children’s performers, and an accomplished visual artist who created delicate cover art for countless recordings.
Jill was also an early president of the renewed Woman’s Club of Albany, and helped to shepherd the club through its early days of restoration and renovation.
Throughout her life, she brought profound kindness and wisdom to every interaction.
In addition to Donald, Rachel and Eric, Jill is survived by her niece Raina Strausman, nephews Arlen and Shea Strausman, grandchildren Anna and David Sheinkin, and by countless other friends and family members who adored her.
Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue, Albany, NY on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 2:00pm
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Music Network, The Woman’s Club of Albany, or the Hospice Inn at Saint Peter’s Hospital.

I, too, am sorry to hear of her passing. I was not in touch with her after graduating, however I will always recall a wonderful class trip taken to her fathers office in manhattan.  It was off Central Park , and it remains as a lovely memory, as I was quite impressed.R.I.P.
