This is the email that I got from Coach Galloway. I feel really stupid that this was just an unfounded rumor. I am old enough to know better.

“Dear Ms. Weaver,
Thank you for your email. You are the third person who has reached out with this concern, and I want to assure you, as I have with the others, that I have no intention of unretiring Mr. Martin’s number. At no point have I considered adding his #21 back into our number sequence.
I have the utmost respect for the rich traditions of Hemet High School football and for all of the great athletes who have left an incredible legacy here, including Kenny Martin. His number will remain retired, and his contributions to our program will continue to be honored.
If you happen to know where this rumor originated, I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know so I can address it directly.
