I remember Vern as a Gentle Giant, soft spoken off the football field, and a Giant Force to deal with on the playing field. A person of his nature is hard to come by. Vern was a friend to all and a special classmate. I'm sad to hear of His passing. I will always remember and count Vern as a gentle and true friend. Bob Lowe

Vern was a great guy.  While stationed in Germany I ran into Vern at the PX, and he invited me over to dinner to meet his wife.  This was great.   A moment I will never forget.

God Bless you Vern, and Thank You

I have very good memories of Vern.  I was fortunate to play football with him.  He always worked so hard to achieve his goals.  I remember running around the track with him during practice.  You could tell he was struggling at times but, he kept going.  Quite a guy.  It was very sad to hear of his passing and he will be missed by family and friends.
