Dennis was a gentle giant. I remember we used to pester him at recess until he would lose patience, catch a hold of one of us, and throw us to the ground like a sack of potatoes. I had to go to the hospital one time when he fell off the merry-go-round on to my ankle (bad sprain). I can still see his silhouette on the horizon, turning the corner on Kuhart, arriving for driver's training driving a big tractor with a black cowboy hat on...
