Marvin Boetcher - Class Of 1967

OBITUARY FROM THE REES FUNERAL HOME WEBSITE, MARCH 10, 2017:
 
MARVIN M. BOETCHER, age 67, of Hobart, passed away peacefully Friday, March 10, 2017 at VNA Hospice with his family at his side. Marv was a 1967 graduate of Hobart High School, a 1971 graduate of Valparaiso Technical Institute, and a 1992 graduate of Purdue University. He retired after 34 years of service at Explorer Pipeline. He was an Adjunct Instructor at Purdue Calumet and text book author. Marvin was a lifelong member of the North Porter Conservation Club. He began an amateur radio club in high school and enjoyed talking to Ham Radio people all over the world throughout his life. He was past president of Amateur Radio Club and was known as WV90.
 
He is survived by his sister, Jackie (Jeff) Fitzgerald; niece, Ashley Fitzgerald all of Hobart; many cousins who always stood by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin C. and Margaret Boetcher.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 3-8 p.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church, 207 Kelly St., Hobart. Funeral service will be Monday, March 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church with Rev. Charles Strietelmeier officiating. There will be additional visitation on Monday from 12 Noon until 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
