John Lake, like Bill Osborn, RULED on Lake George with their motorboats. He would even give an underclassman (me) a ride once in a while! COOL!! And in the winter I wanted to be on his hockey team. 'cause I sure couldn't compete against him! John became a United State's Marine (drafted?). He died in combat, probably trying to save his buddy. A loyal friend and true Marine. I salute you and God bless you , John.
Mary Anne Pope (Bryan) (1963)
According to "The Virtual Wall" website (http://www.virtualwall.org/dl/LakeJW01a.htm) and what I remember, John was on the plane that crashed into Hong Kong harbor in August 1965. I believe the trip out of Vietnam to Hong Kong was an R & R break for the men.
