| Comments: | My family moved from Hobart in the summer of '70 to Bloomington, In. graduating from University High. spent 3 years at IU didn't finish, moved to Normal IL in '77 to manage a shoe store, started working in a duPont plant a year later, met my wife of 31 years at this job. Kathy had 3 kids when we met, 2,3, & 4. we had one more 3 years later. I've adopted the 3 oldest. i left duPont in '88 for a job w/ Mitsubishi working as an electrician. we bought a time share in Banff, AB Canada in 88 and spent about 12 years ski vacationing there, so we love to ski. have been skiing in NH, VT, ME, MI, WI, CO, and CA as well as BC and AB in Canada. I go to ON, Canada fly-in fishing with a bunch I work with every summer since 2000. While my kids were young we spent a week camping somewhere every summer, mostly on Lake Monroe, near Bloomington. I live in an MT nest on 5 acres in the middle of nowhere with the most wonderful woman, she has made me the luckiest man in the world! Our 7 grandkids and 1 ggrandchild keep us busy when we want, when they aren't we are usually on the motorcycle just riding, or hiking the vast wooded preserve behind our home. We have been truly blessed and as Christians, love our Savior. Looking Fwd to whatever comes our way! |
| School Story: | Moving away from Hobart, like we did, left many memories dormant from my first 17 years there... altho, with facebook, I have been able to connect with a whole lot of memories. Some of my favorite were ice skating with Dirk on Lake George playing hockey... ice skating on Keller (sp?) Pond, Hobart Pool, nights out camping and roaming the town, tennis court dances, summer baseball, lazy days on the track with Tim Roper in the spring, and a bunch of crazy days after school with Chris Cook at Mundell. I miss not being able to share those memories often with friends that I would have had if we hadn't moved, but we did and I had to start a whole new group of friends that I wouldn't have had otherwise in Bloomington... a beautiful place in its own. |
