OBITUARY FROM THE POST-TRIBUNE, DECDMBER 28, 2008:
IRENE M. BALOG Hobart, Indiana In celebration of a life filled with love, she is survived by her husband of 48 years Bernard. Three children, Lisa Logan, John (Julie) Balog, Jennifer (Cary) Brooks; six wonderful gifts, her grandchildren, Alexandra, Riley, Quinn, Spencer, Reece, and Kathleen Irene; sister, Kathleen (George) Ford, brother, Ralph (Melissa) Alexander, sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Alexander and Myrna Alexander; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Kathleen Alexander and brothers Walter and Edward Alexander.
Irene was cremated and a private memorial service was held for family. At her request, there will be no funeral services. Memorial donations in Irene's honor may be made to Saint Vincent de Paul or VNA Hospice of Porter County. For more information contact Rees Funeral Home (219) 942-2109.
