Marion – Waldo L. Popenhagen, 66 died at 8:25 pm Thursday, June 9, 2005 at home. He had retired from U.S. Steel in Hobart IN and worked at Bombardier in Benton. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church in Herrin.

Funeral Home is Mitchell-Hughes and burial with military rites will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. He was born November 7, 1938 in Hobart IN to Walter and Lena Boy Popenhagen.

He married Susan Fields Mink January 14, 1995 and she survives. Other survivors include 2 sons, John and Michelle Popenhagen of Arbor Vitae WI and James and Cara Popenhagen of Hammond IN, daughter Tina Smith of Hammond IN, 9 grandchildren and 2 sisters Lena Lorraine Wyler of Valpairso IN and Lois Popenhagen of Portage IN. He was preceded in death by his parents.
