John Dravet - Class Of 1952

OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, MAY 21, 2013:

Dravet, John Frederick Age 80 of Chesterton passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013. He was born on February 15, 1933 in Gary to George and Mary Glennon Dravet, both of whom preceded him in death.

On August 18, 1954 he married Joanne Kurth Dravet who survives in Chesterton. John is also survived by his children, John (Jean) Dravet of Schaumburg IL, Jim (Pauline) Dravet of Marana AZ, Joe (Tina) Dravet of Hobart, Jan Dravet Pinnell of Portage and Jill Dravert of Portage; grandchildren, Raven, Jana, Paul and Kevin Dravet; brothers, Jerry (Dorothy) Dravet of Valparaiso, Paul (Sharon) Dravet of Portage and sisters, Therese (George) Lindberg of Greenwood IN and Ann Marie (David) Longacre of Hobart. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur (Alice Christakis) Kurth of Valparaiso and David (Mary Jane Kurth) Henley of Hobart and aunts, Nora Venzke of Demotte IN and Cecelia Sysak of Ohio.

John was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Chesterton and the American Legion Post 170. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving his country in the Korean Conflict. He was employed by US Steel, Gary Works in the warehouse for 40 years.

There will be a Memorial Mass from St. Patrick Catholic Church 638 N. Calumet Ave. Chesterton on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 10 a.m. with Father Heeg officiating. The family requests no flowers or memorials given. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of White-Love Funeral Home 525 South 2nd St. Chesterton.
