Richard Paul "Dick" Fehrenbacher - Class Of 1952

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, OCTOBER 31, 2012:

Richard Paul Fehrenbacher, age 78, of Soddy-Daisy TN, passed away on October 29, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Albert Fehrenbacher and Marie Fehrenbacher, both of Hobart, IN; and his sister, Marilyn Hamm, of Lowell, IN. He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Jo Ann, of Soddy-Daisy; his children: Richard Fehrenbacher of Seattle, WA, Robert Fehrenbacher of Taylors, SC, Kaye Gutwein of Monticello, IN, and James Fehrenbacher of Brandon, MS; and his sister, Alice Shields, of Valparaiso, IN.

Richard was a graduate of Hobart, IN, High School, Class of 1952, and attended Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis. He began his career as an industrial engineer trainee at United States Steel in Gary, IN, eventually becoming plant manager of Southern Metal Services of Gulfport, MS. After retirement, he served as consultant for many companies, including Tennessee Trailer of Soddy-Daisy. He also served as Master Gardner for the Chattanooga Food Bank and Docent at the Tennessee Aquarium, and was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church of Soddy-Daisy.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 3 at 10:00 A.M at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Soddy-Daisy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jacob Hamm Scholarship Fund, Tri-Creek Education Foundation, Inc., 195 Oakley Avenue, Lowell, IN, 46356.
