OBITUARY FROM THE NW INDIANA TIMES, APRIL 18, 2011:

Marilyn Joyce Wirick, age 75, a lifetime resident of Hobart, IN, passed away Friday, April 15, 2011 at South Lake Methodist in Merrillville. Marilyn was born April 16, 1935 in Hobart, IN the daughter of the late Guy O. and Myrtle (nee Becker) Wirick Sr. She was a retired (1992) customer representative of Gainer Bank in Hobart, a member of Eastside Unity Presbyterian Church in Gary. She loved all flowers, took pride in her hanging baskets, past BLF&E Auxiliary, past Gary National /Gainer bank 25 year club, past secretary-treasurer of Save More Plaza Merchants Assoc., and a member of Bank Chicks: a gathering of friends sharing lunches and laughs. Early in life she enjoyed singing in the Choir at the Eastside Unity Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her loving family; five nephews: Philip (Donna) Wirick, Don (Connie) Wirick, Larry (Jenne) Wirick, Robert Wirick and Tony Wirick; and sister-in-law, Doris Wirick. Preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers: Charles (Joan (nee Anello)) Wirick and Guy O Wirick Jr.

Funeral services for Marilyn will be held Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bob Burton officiating at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 also at Rees Funeral Home. Burial at Evergreen Memorial Park, Hobart, IN.
