OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, MARCH 18, 2006:

NANCY RUTH MASON (nee Scofield) Hobart, Indiana Born July 16, 1935, passed away Monday, February 27, 2006 while a resident of Horton VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso, IN. A lifelong resident of Hobart, Nancy graduated from Hobart High School & MacMurray College (Jacksonville, IL) and pursued a career in Social Work with the Department of Public Welfare, Child Protection Division, with which she served with distinction and from which she retired in 1997.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, mother, Janice B. Scofield, and her father, Milton R. Scofield. She is survived by brothers, Peter Scofield of FL and Stewart Scofield of CA; aunt, Lorraine (Dan) Simon, of MI; uncle, Bob (Pat) Briska. of IL; cousin, Tim (Donna) Simon, IN; very special friends, Richard and Sandy Jordan of Hobart.

Per Nancy's request, there was no visitation or service. Cremation services were provided by the American Burial & Cremation Society. Memorial donations may be made to MacMurray College, Jacksonville, IL 62650, Attn: Jeffrey Coultas, Director of Planned Giving. Nancy enjoyed a life lived with integrity, candor, honesty and credibility. She will be missed by her many friends whose lives have now a void where once there lived a good and true friend. May her soul rest in peace with a loving God.
