Fred Higgenbottom (1966)

I was deeply saddened to learn of Bills' passing.  My deepest condolences are extended to his many friends and family members.  Over half a century ago Bill and I sang a duet together in the elementary school talent contest which was an annual fund raising event conducted by and for the Foreman elementary school.  Bill was my close friend and classmate until my family moved from Hobart, Indiana to Sparta, Tennessee at the end of my sophomore year of High School.

May the God of all creation comfort Bills family members and rest his soul in heavenly repose until that joyful day we're all reunited and can once again laugh and sing and fellowship together in a land of incomparable beauty where we'll never grow old and where there' no more death or pain.  A peaceful land that's the fervent hope of all who've placed their trust in Gods' eternal grace.

William (Bill) Roth:  I was saddened when I saw Fred Higgenbottom's, post of your demise.  I was really glad to see you and meet your wife at our 50 year High School Reunion.  You knew me instantly, calling me out by name.  You came directly to the table I was sitting at with a lady following you.  I will never forget, you politely introduced your wife to me, and then said to her "remember I told you I was in a 100 mph car club ?  Well Steve is in it also."

I found out then that Bill had a diagnosis of Stage 4 Cancer and had been through all kinds of chemo and various other treatments to try and beat cancer.  He told me an item on his bucket list was to attend his 50 year High School Reunion.  He told me he was glad to see me again and to be able to prove to his wife that the 100 mph car club was real and he had driven a car over 100 mph.

I want to Thank You to ALL the people whom put on our 50th High School Reunion.  I know Bill enjoyed it also.

Steven Simms Class of 66
