Barbara Chirila Ortiz went to eternal rest on May 23, 2017. She was born August 9, 1938 to John and Stella Chirila (Kakineki).
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Felix Ortiz; children, Joyce, Lisa (Greg), Mike, & Sandy (Bob); grandchildren, Kevin, Mikey, Matthew, & Rachel; siblings, Pat, Janice, John (Gloria), Bob (Wanda) & Christine (Harry) and special nieces, Michelle, Jennifer & Chelsea plus other nieces and nephews; sister-in-law’s, Sally (Robert) Brandt & Christine (Charles) Bellar. She was preceded in death by her father, John; mother, Stella; brother, Jeff; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Miguel & Petra Ugalde.
Barbara was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to bowl, play bingo, and travel. Barbara especially loved her grandchildren and spoiled them.
There will be no services at this time. Arrangements were handled by Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN. Cremation services were handled by Heritage Crematory, Portage, IN.
