Patricia 'Pat' Louise Morehouse Walzel, age 76, passed away the morning of April 4, 2015, in Rockport, Texas, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. Born June 8, 1938, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to Clifford and Gladys Morehouse, she grew up with her siblings Jeane, Richard, Roland, Daniel and William.
In April 1958, she married Ronny Manahan with whom she had four children- Jennell, Kimberly, Eric, and Shannon. In November 1974, she married Jack Walzel who preceded her in death on November 24, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, Kathleen and son-in-law, Paul Schmidt.
She was an accomplished ballroom dancer competing in numerous competitions as well as a Texas Realtor active in Houston, Aransas Pass, and Rockport for many years.
Patricia was a resilient, honorable and gracious sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She had a love of family, the ocean, sunsets, and God. She was heavily involved in her community as a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rockport, Texas, and Al-Anon for 35 years. She was service-oriented and selfless, lending her time and wisdom to her family and community.
She is survived by her children, Lee Jennell Schmidt-Gill (Dan), Kimberly Murphey (Rick McCauley), Eric Manahan (Leanne), Shannon Manahan, and her step children, Jack Walzel (Shevawn), Michael Walzel, Jetta Munoz-Walzel, Marjorie Aronowitz (Mark), her grandchildren, Justin Schmidt (Sabrina), Jacob Schmidt, Alainah Schmidt, Heather White (Mike), Michael Craft (Bree), Rachael Craft (Nathan Singleton), Sean Hugger (Sierra), Leah Manahan, Joseph Manahan, Branden Graham, Emily Manahan, Katie Walzel, Allison Walzel, Jenny Walzel, Savannah Walzel, Julia Walzel, Bethany Walzel Vinson (Jimmy), Mathew Munoz (Darcy), Mitchell Munoz (Amanda), Megan Munoz, Mark Munoz, Kaylee Aronowitz, Jackson Aronowitz and great grandchildren, Emma and Analucia Schmidt, Averie and Makenzie White, Ava and Ellis Craft, Jack Singleton, Theodore Hugger, Hailey, Katy and Rob Vinson.
Visitation will be held at the Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport, Texas. Memorial Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Rockport,Texas. A graveside service will be held at the Ganado Cemetery in Ganado, Texas.
