OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, JUNE 14, 2016:

William Lawrence Vinzant, age 81, of Schererville, IN, born on September 12, 1934, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, June 11, 2016. Husband of 54 years to his beloved wife Greta E. Vinzant and loving father of Lisa (Greg) Smith of Ohio and Mark (Clara) Vinzant of Indiana. Proud and adored grandfather of Taylor, Carter, Kelsey, Austin, Zachary and Robert. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Erma Vinzant and his brother Robert D. Vinzant of Hobart, IN. Survived by his sister-in-law, Marjorie (Edward) Weber, nephews David and John Vinzant, and niece Jeannine Cappiello.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Navy who continued to enjoy spending time with the plankowners and crew of the U.S.S. Aeolus. He graduated from Valparaiso University. Bill will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held Friday June 17, 2016 10:30 a.m. at Lincoln Ridge Funeral Home, 7607 W. Lincoln Hwy., Schererville (Rt. 30 East of Cline Ave.) Cremation will follow. Friends are invited to visit with William's family on Thursday June 16, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. also on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
