I actually worked with her brother around 2001 or 2002, and he said that she had a battle with brain cancer, but I am not sure what year she actuall passed away. Really sad, because I used to ride my bike to her house when I was young and went to Foreman together.

Thanks Cire, that is sad. Just shows life is short and not fair, that's why everyone should live it to the fullest

Well that ruined my day, I had no idea...My parents usually keep me informed of any happenings back home but this is a real shock. Carol was my first girlfriend back in Mrs. Brandenburgs 4th grade class, we used to hang out at her house all the time. She had a swing on her front porch that her and I used to sit on after school and I'll never forget hearing the song "Front porch in the swing, just a swingin"....She will be sadly missed.

That is so sad. I remember Tracey Hinshaw had a party in grade school and we played spin the bottle. Well I got Carol and being my first kiss, I missed her lips and got the side of her nose. After the game she called me over to the back stairs and I got my second chance. What a doll!

It is terrible when people are taken from us so soon.
I lost my father-in-law to a glioblastoma grade IV, a very aggressive brain tumor. He was an awesome man. Picture Mr. Drummond from Different Strokes. He was Lutheran and very religious. After his surgery, where they could only remove 90% of the tumor, they gave him 3 months to live. He ended up living 17 months. He walked his daughter down the aisle, lived to see another Christmas, another Easter. Near the end, when he could still speak, he told me in private, that if he is wrong, if the miracle that we were praying for does not happen, that I should know he goes forth to prepare a place in Heaven for his family. It is comforting to view his passing this way and to think Carol has done the same.

Those are all great stories about Karol. I remember that swing, Eric. I also remember her contageous laugh and bouncy walk. She was a lot of fun and I'm sure she would be happy to know we all miss her.

I actually went to her funeral. If memory serves correctly she threw a clot to the brain that ended up leading to her death. Very sad indeed.

Poor thing; what a cute girl she was at Foreman Elementary. Somebody mentioned her 'bouncy walk' and that is exactly what I thought of when I read that she passed away. Funny what the mind can recollect after 30 years.
