Kenton Donovan

KENTON'S OBITUARY

Kenton Leon Donovan, 63, died September 16, 2022, at the University of Kansas Hospital, Great Bend, Kansas.  He was born August 28, 1959, in Hoisington, Kansas, the son of Marvin Lee and Roberta Emily (Deichen) Donovan. Kenton graduated from Hoisington High School in 1979.

He served in the Kansas Army National Guard serving from 1977 to 1997 during the Persian Gulf War, in Belgium, Switzerland, Holland and Germany.

Kenton was a longtime Hoisington resident, working for Fuller Brush, and as a custodian for USD 431 and Walmart.  He also had a part time business doing landscaping.  Kenton was a car enthusiast, he helped start the Mid-America Mopar Club in Great Bend with his beloved Super Bee.  He loved roller skating, gardening and collecting white tigers, matchbox cars, and angels.

On April 15, 1989, he married Kimberly M. Sander, they later divorced.

He is survived by his two daughters; Delora Claire (Ben) Erwin of Woodward, Oklahoma and Larissa Terra (Darin) Eggers of Russell; two sisters, Sherri K. Donovan and Vonda M. (David) Wigal, all of Wichita; four grandchildren, Blake Donovan Wigal, Bentlee Michael Smith Donovan, Anastazia Rayne Erwin, and Terra Jayden Eggers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Roberta Donovan, his grandparents, Jerome & Lenora Donovan, a brother, Terry L. Donovan, and his Aunt Delora M. Donovan. 

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, with family to greet friends from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Monday, September 19, 2022, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with Pastor Don Fisher presiding. Burial will follow in Hoisington Cemetery with graveside honors performed the Kansas National Guard Honor Guard.
