We had a wonderful time at our

Davis Class of 1976 - 45th Plus 1 Year Reunion

October 15, 2022

at the Houston Police Officers Union Hall!

Unfamiliar faces became familiar within seconds. Voices that we had not heard in decades became welcomed sounds to our ears. Stories that had made us laugh all those years ago, still had us in tears with laughter. Having a moment of silence for our friends that were not with us anymore filled our hearts with love to recognize that we had been blessed to know friends like these that even after almost 50 years we had not forgotten them. What a great time. Hopefully, we won't have to wait another several years before we can be brought together again.

Our Master of Ceremony was our own, Al Flores.

The Invocation was performed by our classmate, Rev. Louis Morris

and the Closing Praying by another classmate, Dr. Reginald C. Rose

Our wonderful volunteers were:

Steve Evans and Richard Fant with the drinks.

Valentina Salazar with the food.

Shannon and Auri Evans at the check in table and with the audio/video equipment.

David Martinez and David San Miguel.

The delicious food was served by Olive Garden.

Those great old songs that we learned to dance to were played by Dave with DJ Elusive.

Our photographers were Daniel Del Bosque and Steven Evans.

The entertainment was provided by Elvis Tribute Artist, Ralph Elizondo.

Pictures for all events, including our Davis Tour and Mixer at the

Harris County General Store Barbeque Company, will be posted soon!

Announcing Jeff Davis' Upcoming Centennial

In our graduation year, 1976, along with our graduation we celebrated our nation's 200 years and our school's 50 year anniversary. Now, in preparation of Jeff Davis' (Northside High School) Centennial anniversary coming up in 2026, staff and faculty are already planning wonderful events. It will be the 100th Anniversary of our beloved school building. Parades, banquets, tours and more are being planned. Contact Northside High School for more information and to volunteer to help.

THANK YOU TO OUR GRACIOUS HOSTS!

Our Davis Class of '76 Reunion Committee always looks for fun and interesting events to add to our "big event night" that is on Saturday. Our hope is to intrigue and motivate you to join your classmates for the entire weekend.

This year's reunion included a tour on Friday of our old alma mater. We had about 30 classmates and friends join us! Thank you to Northside High School and our "tour guide" Francisco Rodriguez for a wonderful tour. The main entrance, as beautiful as always, was still exactly as we left it. The old hallways that we walked through every day were still there. But all with very noticable and beautiful changes. And, no lockers! smiley or sad? The new buildings and classrooms included two band rooms, a beautiful dance room and a culinary program among many other changtes that were incredible to view. We were even joined by a former alumni, Jaime Castaneda. Jaime was an Assistant Principal, and later, Principal at Davis/Northside High School. He enlightened us with extra information about our old school. So, thank you to Jaime as well!

Our second event on Friday evening was at Harris County General Store Barbecue Company at 5434 Lawndale. Thank you to our own, Al Flores, for arranging our Mixer. We had a great time with delicious food, jamming music, fun games and awesome door prizes! Thank you to our own, Debora Williams Evans, for always making our events deliriously funny.

By the way,

Harris County General Store BBQ Co. is now:

Hacienda Tacos y Tamales, same location at 5434 Lawndale.

Let's support it's owner, our old classmate, Al Flores and go out and have some breakfast tacos, breakfast plates and some delicious tamales in the mornings from 6:00 am to 11:00 am. Lunch plates and BBQ are served in the afternoon 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Open every day of the week!

We hope you will join us at our next reunion event!
