What School Activities Did you Participate in and in what years?

I was in band from 1967-1969, playing in the percussion section. I was part of the second graduating class from Westchester. The band trips to games were a blast. Marching into Tully Stadium for home football games was fantastic. Also, going to the Astrodome with the other Spring Branch schools and playing the National Anthem on the field was a special treat.

Comments:

Went to Hardin-Simmons in Abilene, met my wife, Trf to Sul Ross in Alpine
graduated and got married in Dec 1973, Moved to Abilene in Oct 1975 for job opportunities. Had two daughters, they grew up, went to college, got married and moved off! Each has 3 children and the oldest lives in Brock and the youngest lives in Austin south of Bee Cave. Was a bookkeeper/parts counter salesman for 3 Agricultural dealers in Abilene for 35 years and retired in April 2020 to take care of my wife who had just been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. She lost her battle in Feb 2022 and is now in Heaven. I have been doing alot of traveling to see daughters and grandchildren who are involved in volleyball and baseball. Still listen to 60's and 70's rock music to this day. Alot of the 60's music brings back many memories from good ole Westchester High!

School Story:

The first football that WHS played in Sept 1967 was a Saturday game at high noon in Corpus Christi. Just a tad bit warm. Got to spend the night in a hotel on the beach and had a cookout on the beach that Saturday evening. A good time was had by all, even not adhering to the curfew!!
Also, the WHS band to the Hemisphere in San Antonio in 1968, played a couple of concerts and got to see the Hemisphere. Also marched in two Thanksgiving Parades in Downtown Houston 67 and 68.

Steven and I were in the band together at Westchester High. we were both in the drum section and had a blast on band trips to football games. Also went to his house numerous times with Barry Medford and took turns playing on his trap set.

He died way to young.
