In Memory, unfortunately we lost Carter Gillespie in August of 2007. He graduated from Westchester in 1981.

HENRY CARTER GILLESPIE IV was born June 28, 1962 and died on August 7, 2007 while on a business trip in Costa Rica. He lived in Ingleside, TX with his loving wife, Lindsey of seventeen years and their three children, Hunter, Colby and Dell.

Carter was known for his uncanny vision and dedication. His many achievements included: serving as advisor to the local football league, running his companies Gillcoast Construction and Coastal Bend Construction which were involved in building Ingleside youth centers and senior centers as well as many other area projects. Carter was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the 82nd Airborne Ranger Division. . He was a vibrant, loving, visionary with an entrepreneurial spirit .His favorite hobbies were scuba diving in the Caribbean, gourmet cooking and painting.

He is survived by his wife Lindsey Terrey Gillespie, sons Henry Carter Gillespie V (Hunter), Colbert Thomas Gillespie (Colby), daughter Lundell Terrey Gillespie (Dell), mother Elizabeth Betty Parr of Austin, TX, and father Henry Carter Gillespie III of Los Angeles, CA, also survived by sisters Pamela Gillespie Blanton and Mary Elizabeth Parr of Austin, TX. and brother Cabel Gillespie of Corpus Christi and sister Keri Logan Gillespie of Los Angeles, CA.

Carter has reached his final adventure and has joined those that preceded him; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Henry Carter Gillespie, Jr, Mr. James Earl Rooker and Mrs. Robbie Lee Rooker, Aunt Cornelia Gillespie Lundquist and Uncle James Earl Rooker.

A memorial service will be held at Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi, Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 2:00 pm. A reception for family and friends will follow at Assaggio's at 4650 Corona Drive. The Carter Gillespie Memorial Scholarship fund has been set up for the children at Frost Bank. SEASIDE FUNERAL HOME 4357 OCEAN DR. CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS 78412

Wow!!! Just got on the Westchester website and was shocked to see Carter's passing. Roomed with Carter and Chris Moore at Southwest Texas State, that was an experience! If I know him, he is looking down on us with a sly smile on his face and a beer in one hand and a J in the other.
