On December 7, 2018, at the age of 62, Russell Marvin Zeid's soul passed on. He now watches over his loved ones and friends. Rusty, as he was known to friends and family, was a loving man who always took care of those around him. He will be deeply missed.
After graduating from Stephen F. Austin, he launched his career in the radio industry. Concluding his time entertaining those in sound waves, he would decide to pursue a career in trading Oil & Gas. Using his adept skills, Rusty would eventually run private company Wilmar Pipelines, which he operated himself for nearly thirty years. In addition to running his company, Rusty also held a second more personal and passionate career: Head Usher of the church he loved, Memorial Drive United Methodist Church. It was an impossibility to attend a Sunday service and not see his smiling face. Simply put, if you were a member of the church, you knew Rusty.
Rusty is preceded in death by his mom Barbara Zeid and father-in-law O.A. Maybin. He is survived by his wife Dana Zeid, his son Chris Zeid & wife Loren, his daughter Caroline Nelson & husband Joe, his father Marvin Zeid, his sister Linda Deere & family, his brother Randy Zeid & family, his mother-in-law Pat Maybin, his brother-in-law Mike Maybin & family, his brother-in-law Jon Maybin & family, and his dog Maddie & cat Lucky.
A Memorial Service celebrating Rusty's life was held Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, 12955 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77079.
