We are extremely excited to announce the final plans and itinerary for our 40th GRAND REUNION WEEKEND, September 22nd - 24th.  Please see below for our weekend schedule:

Friday, September 22

3:00 pm - check in for those staying at the Omni Hotel

6:00 pm - 10:00 pm - Welcome Reception (Casual) at the Omni Black Swan - appetizers and cash bar. Entertainment provided by DJZ Mike with his super cool pop /country and evening dance/funk mix and Action! Mark with his Academy Award winning choreographed class slideshow. The bar opens to the public at 10:00 pm but does not get crowded until 11:00 pm.

Saturday, September 23

11:00 am - MHS Tour with the Principal and Lowry, who was always the teacher's pet! Please meet her in the front of the school to see all the changes that have taken place these last 40 years.

5:45 pm - 6:00 pm - For those who would like a hitch a ride to and from the event, meet us in front of the Omni Hotel. We won't be singing "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall" but there will be refreshments. Please email lsheard@interface-consulting.com if riding the bus if you have not already. We do have a limit.

6:30 pm - 12:00 midnight - The Grand Rooftop 40 Year Reunion (TX Chic) at The Post (401 Franklin Street) w/ Skyrocket who will rock you out of this world with the best 80's music played in sets throughout the night. There will be plenty of time for catching up and mingling with all our classmates while you enjoy majestic downtown views, catered cuisine, premium drinks, and dancing under the stars in a grand, fully airconditioned tent!  There will also be special surprise from one of our talented classmates, who is a professional singer and will hit us with her best shot!

12:00 midnight - Don't leave without your gift bag full of goodies and don't miss the bus ride back to the Hotel or drink and drive home.

Sunday, September 24

10:00 am - 12:00 noon - Bloody Mary Brunch in the Omni restaurant for those who would like to rehash the night before, need a little hair of the dog, and who want to say their goodbyes. We did not get underwriting for this event so everyone is on their own.

The entire committee has worked so hard to make this happen. We had one question: Do we go big or do we have it at the Racquet Club? After very little thought, we decided to GO BIG OR GO HOME!!!

We have truly outdone ourselves. Our reunion team has come together to coordinate a special gathering for all of us to celebrate our friendships and memories we hold so dear. This involved getting quotes, researching, and visiting numerous locations and venues. We have decided on The POST in downtown Houston. Once we all visited, we knew this was our place. The POST sits stoically on the rooftop of the completely refurbished historical Barbara Jordan Post Office with an outdoor sky lawn park, gardens, and event space that overlooks downtown Houston that is absolutely spectacular.

We are going to be having a welcoming event on Friday, September 22nd at The Omni Hotel, inside the Black Swann like last time. The Omni has had a complete $30M renovation since it flooded during Harvey. It is stunning. We will be holding room blocks for anyone wanting to stay there while they are in town. The rates are extremely reasonable and will be sent out as soon as this is finalized.

The big event will be Saturday night at The POST on 401 Franklin St. Houston, TX 77021. We will have buses transporting anyone who wants a ride to and from the hotel. There will be festive decorations and catered food and drinks served. Our plan is to sell tickets again, through this site.

Along with the amazing venue, we have signed Skyrocket Band to play later in the evening. We are so fortunate to have 4 families, that were willing to donate the cost of the band for our reunion. This inspired us to find an amazing venue. Skyrocket is a 70’s/80’s tribute all-star band bringing classics from ABBA to Zeppelin to our event so we can relive our time together.

Like our last reunion, we are going to have sponsors for all the fun stuff, so we can have the best reunion EVER!

Finalize your travel plans. This date is set. There’s no turning back as we are finalizing our big 40th finale!
