Tommy Joe Kernell, son of Virgil and Callie (Worthy) Kernell, died at age 59 in Gainesville, Georgia.   He was born December 19, 1942, in Hugo.  His death came November 25, 2001; burial followed in Gainesville. 

Tommy Joe was a paint and body repair technician.

He was survived by one son Michael, who was born to him and his wife Barbara Adams Kernell, formerly of Sobol, Oklahoma.  Both of his parents survived as well as three brothers and two sisters. 

Tommy Joe Kernell served in the U.S. Navy.
