Services for Bill Mantooth will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2009, at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating the service will be Bro. Brian Smith and Bro. Charles Green and burial will follow in Springs Chapel Cemetery, Hugo, Oklahoma, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Hugo.
Bill died Tuesday, November 24, 2009, in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was 67.
Billy Thomas Mantooth was born October. 10, 1942, in Antlers, Oklahoma, the son of Millard Mantooth and Joyce (Wayman) Mantooth. He grew up in Hugo, graduating from Hugo High School in 1960. His father preceded him in death.
Bill married Donna Bradshaw on March 15, 1963, in Hugo. He loved watching football, especially the OU Sooners and Dallas Cowboys; enjoyed a good time with his friends, barbecue, and a cold drink. Bill was a hard worker, loved to help people, and enjoyed the basics in life. He especially loved his grandchildren and family. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War.
Surviving relatives include his wife Donna Mantooth; his mother Joyce Mantooth of Hugo; one daughter Rhonda Garrett of Greenville, Texas; one son Billy Mantooth of Wimberley, Texas; daughter-in-law Cheri Tatsch of Wimberley; one brother Robert Mantooth of Hugo; sister-in-law Lois Mantooth of Hugo; grandchildren Josh Garrett of Dallas, Kendall Woodrow of Greenville, Karlee Sly of Sherman, Ashley Tatsch of Wimberley, Kelsey Tatsch of San Marcos, Texas; great-grandchildren Alex Gorgo of Rowlett, Texas, and Karson Slaughter of Wimberley, along with many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., Friday, November 27, 2009, at the funeral home.
