Obituary:Gene Maxwell

Gene Maxwell died on April 14, 2013 in Hugo, Oklahoma.

Edgar Eugene “Gene” Maxwell was born July 16, 1942 in Boswell, OK, the son of Edgar Maxwell and Cleo (Hasty) Maxwell and had lived all of his life in this area. Gene was a retired police officer working in law enforcement for 36 years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Hugo. Gene enjoyed playing marbles and Michigan Poker and especially enjoyed family reunions. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

His parents preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eddie Maxwell and Elbert Lee Maxwell.

Survivors include: two sons, Robert Maxwell of Hugo and Phillip Maxwell and wife, Barbara, also of Hugo; one daughter; Gina Nassar Edwards and husband, Mickey of Hugo; six grandchildren, Bradley Ray Maxwell, Torie Jan Maxwell, Dalton Kole Maxwell, Gregory Marwan Nassar, Christopher Shane Nassar and Na'keia C'yne Nassar; five great grandchildren, Aiden Wayne Maxwell, Cayden Andrew Nassar, Abriana Lynn Suhr, Gabrielle Nicole Nassar and Kinzlie Alore Nassar; Brothers and sisters, Darlene Tedder of Hugo, Jolene Saxon of Hugo, Leon Maxwell of Hugo, Kay Brown and husband Randy of Weatherford,TX, Jennifer Maxwell of Lubbock, TX, Ronnie Maxwell of Lubbock, TX, G.W. Collins of Hugo, Linda Drinnon of Swink and Judy Hill of Lubbock, TX; special dear friends, Larry Weant of Kingston, OK and Liz Mauldin of Hugo; numerous nieces and nephews along with many other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Hugo, with Bro. Doug McClure, officiating.

Donelda June Usry (Blanton)

Always thought of Eugene as a shy but all round good guy.  My husband always enjoyed talking to him at the reunions because they has law enforcement in common.  He will be missed by all I am sure.  Donelda Blanton
