Joined the Army. Entered Royal Military College Duntroon Jan 1968; graduated Dec 1972. Served in Field Artillery; stationed in units at Ingleburn, Holsworthy, Kogarah, Melbourne & Brisbane. Also as Instructor at Officer Cadet School Portsea. First "desk job" at Georges Heights and then resigned in Jan 1991 with rank of Major. My service was post Vietnam and in a period of no overseas deployments; we were called the "Koalas" - not to be exported and not to be shot at!! Pretty boring stuff but I enjoyed my time in the Army.
Jan 1991 to Jan 2007 was Executive Officer of NSW Parents Council; organization representing parents with children at non-government schools.
Acted as advocate and political lobbyist in schooling arena, particularly government funding for non-government schools & students. Probably visited every non-government school across NSW at least once. An interesting and challenging job.
From Jan 2007 became certified Bookkeeper and registered BAS Agent. Specialised in MYOB & Xero "in the cloud" systems. Work as Freelance and on contract in Sydney area. Presently still working to lower the national debt!!
