Hey everyone,

Where's the new high school located?

07/03/08 09:37 PM #14

Stephen H. Bud Jones

It's on top of the old soccer field facing Bob Wallace Ave. It's a nice looking school (loosely resembles the old HHS/HMS on White St.), but it just isn't the same.

Is there going to be something put in the paper about the reunion? I ran into Lance Roades yesterday at the golf course and he didn't know anything about the reunion.Let me know if I need to call the Times.

Thanks, Bud. It's been years since I've been back to Huntsville. For some reason I thought it was built at a new location. I guess I had a hard time imagining the old school being knocked down to make way for the new one.

For those out-of-towners who haven't been back in a while, Google Maps recently enabled the "Street View" feature for Huntsville. It basically lets you "virtually" drive around town.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=huntsville+high+school+huntsville,+al&layer=c&ie=UTF8&ll=34.733713,-86.746674&spn=0.7347,0.943451&z=10&iwloc=A

(You can tell that this is post is VERY important by how big the message box is...)

Hey everybody! Long time no see. I hope everyone is doing well. I've been in touch with a few old friends like John Hornsby, Lance Stratton, Robby Storey, and John Ferguson. I also bumped into Jenny Perra at Wal-Mart a while back (Holy crap! Remember Jones Valley?), and I just saw Stephanie Heath at Star Market just recently too (Sorry I blocked your truck in). I tried to get in touch with Bill Griffin and Wes McCurry, but they won't return my calls. Anyway, Hey Patty, and hey to everyone else. Oh, just one question - is Mr. Sharp, Miss Tipton, or Vice Principal Smith going to be handling security at the reunion? I was thinking of skipping the food and heading to Burger King for a bit. HAHA!

See you all there! ;-)

Rock on!

P.S. Is the band going to play a bunch of 80's pop music? If so, Hornsby and his band "The Mange" would like a crack at some Boy George, some Wham, and some Pet Shop Boys songs. HAHA!

Hi there. Eric Pugh here (Jennifer Pera was nice enough to give me a guest account). I went to Huntsville Middle School with most of you, and Jones Valley in 6th grade as well, but my family moved to south FL right before our freshman year in the summer of 84. I was not happy about the move at all - I loved living in Huntsville and at the time really wished I could have gone to HHS with the rest of you. FL worked out well though, but at the time it was a total bummer.

It is incredible seeing so many faces that I only remember as middle schoolers - now in their late 30's. For those folks who I knew better than others, if you're ever in South FL, feel free to give me a call 800-790-5130 (email is epugh@comcast.net). Also for those interested, my profile at my high school is at this link:

Anyway, it's great to see so many of you doing so well. Have a great time at the reunion.

Glad to hear the reunion was a hit. Tonya and I did not make this time but hope to be there for the next one. Will there be pictures posted on the website? We have enjoyed reading everyone profiles and look forward to attending the next get together.

Take care,

That was alot of fun. Thanks again to those who took time from their busy schedules to help plan it and make it happen.

It was nice to see "hot mamas" become hot mommies, and dudes become dads. The scene I enjoyed the most was touring the school with all these familiar faces, walking past little lockers and leaning against those familiar chemistry tables, just like 20 years ago except now most of us are fighting with children and repeating their names over and over.

"Peter...Peter...Peter...no...peter...come here...PETER!!"

The band was awesome, the food was great (good choice whoever decided to go with heavy hors d'oeuvres). I did have one cold meatball, but I placed it in someone's bag so it's all good.

Anyway, it was nice seeing everyone. If you are ever passing through Birmingham, let Lori and I know if you want to get your lunch on. Otherwise, see you at the next reunion, whenever that is.

Hey All,

Thanks for the great weekend! I took a lot of pictures on Friday night but not too many on Saturday due to a freak camera accident late in the evening Friday (don't worry, Heather...I think it can be fixed! :D ) When I get over the trip home...we got in at 4 am this morning...and the migraine that resulted from the trip back, I'll get some posted.

Scott Henderson! You were there??? I guess I AM blind...I didn't see you...I even asked a few people if you were there. I'm sorry I missed you!

Thanks to Jennifer and her committee...it was a memorable event!

Just an FYI...the contact info sheet that was given out at the picnic...I believe the info was taken from Pay Pal records. Is that correct? I noticed that my info was incorrect because I used my husband's Pay Pal account that has contact info that hasn't been updated in years. HIS personal e-mail and home address before we were married was listed. I'm wondering how many other's info was not current because of that?

07/14/08 08:10 PM #27

Pam Jennings (Jennings -Cooper)

Hey guys....I didn't get that contact sheet. Jen Pera Jenkins said that she would email us the info to update that.

07/14/08 08:36 PM #28

Michael S. Henderson

Ummm... No Patty, I didn't make it... Does that mean I don't graduate now? HAHA! Seriously though, I had planned on going, BUT...

Hornsby came in town and we kind of did like we did in the old days and just skipped the whole high school thing... Minus the hot tub party at my dad's house, we just hung out and jammed some old rock, metal, and blues... We even went to the 3 caves and waited on you, Heather, and Natalie, but y'all never showed up... HAHA! jk!

Anyway, wish we could've been there... I really don't miss high school, maybe just skipping it, but I do miss all of you... Heck, I even miss Stephen Parks (Mellon Head), Jimmy Hughes (Lemon Head), Michael Nelson (Barney Rubble)... Especially after talking to Lance Stratton (Egg Head)... I can't remember everyone else's nick names like (Furgerburger, BIN, Ben, 123, Midget (Robby Storey), and (I won't mention Mike Lewter's nick names) ok that's enough)... lol

I do wish you all well though...

Cheers!

P.S. To all of our friends that aren't here with us now:

I really miss Bobby, Jimmy, Eric, Tim, Rich... I miss you guys...

Scott

Hey all! I loved seeing you all and getting back in touch with you. I hope we don't wait another 10 years to do this again! Jenny Pera and the rest of the committee--THANK YOU! You guys did a wonderful job!

I didn't get the contact sheet either and I did use my husband's account so the info is probably wrong. My email is nhunkapillar@hsv.k12.al.us

Pam--I would love to do lunch sometime! Call me--

The reunion committee did a fabulous job. It was fantastic to see everyone. The band was great! It would be nice if someone wants to take the initiative to put together a CD of the attendee’s photos (I have a few). In addition, I did not get a contact list. As soon as the up-dates are made to the list, maybe someone could put it on this site.

Hello Everyone,

Glad to see so many folks on here! Happy that most everyone is doing well. Just wanted to send a hello to everyone. I am also sorry to see friends that are no longer here with us. Everyone take care of yourselves, and those close to you!

J. J. Kendall (Shoemake)

I hate that I missed the reunion-especially since I am here in Huntsville. Some back problems made me decide that I just shouldn't push it and should take it easy. It sounds like it was a blast. It would be hard not to have a good time with Juice playing. Thanks to everyone that did the planning and I won't miss the next one!

Lori Knight (Lioce)

Does anyone have a copy of the class picture we took at the reunion? Is there a good one posted?

12/06/08 07:07 PM #35

Joany A. Lively (Zilke)

It's been great catching up on what everyone is doing. I hate I didn't know about the reunion until this past week, but you know, life happens.

Nice to see so many of us doing well and all of our beautiful children. For all the skipping school for Burger King, we turned out pretty good! :-)

I think I was a little surprised that so many stayed close to home and that a several of us made our way out of the state altogether. For those of you living in NC, and make it to Wilmington, shoot me an email and I'd be happy to show you around my new "home town". It's beautiful here!

Everyone take care and Happy Holidays!
