So, what happened?

Greg was killed in a car accident our senior year of high school. He was a kind person who died too young.

I remember Greg was a young "wannabe" artist who entertained Nicole and I in Coach Akbay's class daily. He had those beautiful eyes and whispy "rocker" hairdo. I thought he was so cool!
We were shocked and devastated at the news of his death, heartlessly announced over the P.A. system the day after it happened. I remember refusing to let anyone sit in his desk for the remainder of the school year. (Oh, the drama!) Looking back, I have to say in reality I had a HUGE crush on Greg. He was kind and beautiful on the inside and out. That day stands out in my mind as one of the worst in my high school career. I am sad he was not able to walk across the stage with us as he was working so hard and we were so close to graduation when he had that awful accident.
In reading through my old memory book today, I read a note I kept from Greg. It was the last one I had. It said "This class (Economics) is hard but I can't wait to graduate." Which broke my heart. I also found the note his mom had written to our class after the funeral. I worked in the office and I must have taken it after it was read over the PA. She wrote "Greg was a good person and we are saying to each and every classmate and friend - Live a good life and always keep Greg in your hearts." I know that I have.
His death is a reminder to us all that no matter what the age, God does not promise us a tomorrow, but only today. Pay attention to the impression you are leaving on someone because you never know who you will touch and in what way. Also, we should endure to stay within His will for our life and be a servant to others daily. I look forward to finally hugging Greg's neck one day. :)

Well said Lena. I had Mr. Tunstill's co-op class with Greg so I got a chance to spend a good bit of time with him. He was a great guy to be around and always alot of fun! It was tragic and he was taken way to young. I always think of Greg when I hear the song " Eternal Flame" by The Bangles. Spencer Cox, John Miller, Wendy Howard, and several others all went to look at the car in the junk yard after the funeral and that song came on the radio. That was a sad sad day. I also cant wait to see him again in heaven!
