Meet & Greet / Mexican Buffet Feast
Reunion events kick off on Friday night with a Meet & Greet followed by a Mexican Buffet dinner at 7 PM at the Anchor Inn Mexican Restaurant. The buffet includes unlimited non-alcholic beverages and chips & salsa. This is a pay-at-the-door event with money collected by the reunion committee. Cost is $15 per person and while it is a pay-at-the-door event, we need everyone to RSVP using the event manager. The RSVP is necessary so the Anchor Inn can reserve room for us and ensure there is enough food.
After Party
After dinner (around 9-10 pm), we'll relocate to one of the many exciting nighttime entertainment venues in Hutchinson to party until the cows come home (or the bar closes - whichever comes first). Remember, no drinking and driving (seriously). Please use the time at the meet & greet to find a designated driver staying at the same hotel. We are unlikely to replicate that graduation night kegger at the Ramada Inn but we should all still remember how to have a good time. This is a pay your own way event.
Team Practice
Saturday begins with the cross-country team meeting at 6 am by the gym for a morning run. Unfortunately, the rocket slide on the playground next to the fairgrounds pool is no longer there (and neither is the pool). You will not be able to climb to the top of the rocket to hide from Coach Swint driving around checking to ensure everyone is putting in their best effort. Whoever (whomever?) shows up first is in charge of attendence and setting the course and pace. The football team meets for wind sprints at 7 am. Basket and volleyball teams at 8 am. The debate team will get together at 9 am to try and resolve their 40 year conflict.
School Tour
For everyone else, Saturday begins with a tour of the greatly renovated Hutchinson High School at 11 am. A lot has changed in 40 years. Check it out here on Google Maps. There have been many upgrades and new buildings added. To ensure everyone gets an opportunity, radiator sitting at the intersection of "B" and "C" halls will be limited to 30 seconds each (max three persons / radiator). This event will only occur if enough people sign up so please RSVP. Note dragging your stingray bicycle onto the top of the walkways and riding around is strickly forbidden.
40th Reunion Prom
The Prom will be held Saturday night at the Knights of Columbus (1200 West 15th). Doors open at 6:30 pm. Dinner starts at 7 pm and is being catered by Knackie's BBQ. The first two kegs are included with the dinner cost of $30.00 per person. Because this is a catered event payment in advance is required and due by July 31st. There will be a cash bar and you can bring your own booze (BYOB) and mixers. Dancing starts 9 pm and runs until 12 midnight. DJ Terry Fields will be playing our favorite music from the 70's to today. Proper attire for this event is clothing - shorts, jeans, hoop skirts, or your best leisure suit - it doesn't matter as long as you do have clothing. Again, please have a designated driver.
Kansas Cosmosphere and Stratica Salt Mine Tours
Group rate tours of the Kansas Cosmosphere and Stractica could be schedule provided there is enough interest and enough people sign-up to qualify for the group rate. The Kansas Cosmosphere tour would likely be scheduled Saturday afternoon between the school tour at 11 am and prom at 6:30 pm. The Stratica tour would likely take place after noon on Sunday. Please take the Optional Event Survey if your are interested in these tours.
Stractica - Group rate is $13 for groups of 28 persons or more. The tour takes approximately 2 hours and include dark ride, geology tour, pick your own salt sample, regular train ride, and museum. Regular rates are $19 (Reno County residents $14).
Cosmosphere - Still awaiting information.

A 40th Class Reunion PayPal pool has been setup. The link for donations and payments is below. It will take you to the PayPal website where you will see "40th Class Reunion, Organized by Cathy Johnson." You will need to sign-in to your PayPal account or create an account if you do not have one. Donations and payments using a credit card are charged a 3.5% fee over the amount donated. Donations paid directly from your bank account are not charged a fee. Donations are to pay for adminstrative costs (e.g. printing, postage, facility reservations, etc.). See you at the reunion.
