Everett, James Wesley 'Jim' Fort Myers, FL; formerly of Jackson, MI Age 76, died at Hope Hospice on Friday, May 12, 2017 with his devoted wife at his side. He was born January 25, 1941 to Clayton and Dorothy (Skidmore) Everett. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years Shirley Everett, his son Eric Everett, grandchildren Nicole Everett and Alexa Everett, and sister Carolyn (Douglas) Walker. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Jeremy Everett. Jim had a great many interests, including his great love of the outdoors, fishing, archery spending time with his family and with his very special dog, Beau-Beau. His very special interest was music. He received his college degree in opera from Albion College in Albion, Michigan. He used his outstanding bass voice to sing at weddings, funerals, nursing homes and especially at his church (Park Alliance Church), in choir, quartets and solos. He was also known for his guitar playing and for the many harmonicas he owned and loved to play. For a time, he also had lead roles in community theatres. Jim worked as a quality control manager at General Products, an automotive parts supplier for Ford Motor Company and Detroit Diesel in Jackson, Michigan. After moving to Fort Myers, he worked as an insurance salesman for American General
