Kiernan Leonard

After graduating, I earned my degree in Communications/Journalism from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville (c/o 2003), followed by an MBA in Marketing from Regis University (c/o 2008). I served a short stint as a City Government Reporter for a small newspaper in Clinton, TN before beginning my career in communications at Spirits Giant Brown-Forman in Nashville, TN.

In 2011 my job transferred me to corporate in Louisville, KY where I remain now. I serve as Global Communications Manager for Woodford Reserve Bourbon Whiskey - the fastest growing super premium bourbon in the world. I love my job. It's traveled me across the United States and Europe in search of Woodford at the World's Best Bars, and afforded me the opportunity to work with high-profile mediums, with the work I've done building TV and communications strategies with NBC and our sponsorship with The Kentucky Derby. (Side note: I hate mint juleps... and horse racing.)

I live in Southern Indiana - right across the Ohio River from Louisville - with Jeromy, our son Banks, and Spartacus (the world's worst dog). We're expecting a new baby boy in May 2019.

- Mary Jo McCowan Howard recounting her story of when her red Aerostar rolled down the hill in front of the West Campus as she was unloading IV equipment (used for props in the Theater Department's production of ER.)
- Earning a B+ in Intro to Business while Adam Aylor earned an A+...even without his doing projects, homework, or being there to take tests.
