Hey Nikki and fellow JHS '89 Alumn! I can't believe we have been out of school for 20 years now! Time certainly does fly! It seems like long ago and yet not so long ago at the same time. My oldest son is a senior in HS and will graduate in May so it seems timely that my 20 year reunion is this year. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your profiles on here!

Hey class of 89,

Me and Nik are really excited, and I know I have been pretty silent but I just wanted to put out there a big thanks to everyone who has responded with input, the rooms, suggestions and everything else. To all the folks who have been helping us find people, what a great help that has been since we are not local.

If you can put this in your mind for a second: A nice get away with your spouse, or some good times with old friends from the past, a change from what goes on in your everyday life, come and join us for a get away. I know me and Michael cherish the few seconds we can get away from our everyday reality.

So Again, thank you everyone who has helped and responded so positively. (Gosh Lane, how'd ya do it)

See you all soon

Moi Cody Martel

Hi Everyone and Happy New Year!

Just curious to see what you all would like to do for our 25 Year Reunion.  Can you believe it?

Would you be interested in having a live band, a DJ or perhaps a couple of comedians come in and perform for us?  Maybe you would consider going on a cruise?  Do you want to have it in Jacksonville, Anniston or Birmingham?   Please respond to this post and let me know what you would like to do?

I've reached out to Nikky Tuck Hill and she suggested we start a forum here.   I look forward to seeing all of you this year.

Hey!!  I'm excited about 25 years!!  Just to add some perspective...Birmingham was super fun but we chose that venue because we could not find one with a liquor license (some wanted us to assume that responsibility - um no).  In addition, we thought that with as many people that had moved away and would have to come back anyway, a venue outside of Jacksonville would work. We had a great turn out and it was better than what we had at 15 years in a local establishment. However, I believe there is a venue in Jacksonville now - a hotel maybe?? - and participation might be greater if we hold it there locally. A shameless plug - my sister-in-law owns the Peerless Saloon in Anniston which has a party room (maybe two??) but I'm not sure how many it holds.  I think we looked into that last time as well but found it was not big enough. They have expanded and I would be happy to ask her about it if that is an option, just a thought. I'm not partial.

We had a band at 15 years and a DJ at 20. At the 20 year, we had a much larger "dance crowd" and the music was much more diverse. I'm all for a DJ unless someone knows a really good cover band that plays everything. One genre will not cut it.

I have not updated emails in I cannot remember how long so there may be quite a few that are old.  With as many people that use Facebook now, I'm sure that wouldn't be to difficult to have a link posted of this site and ask everyone to create/update their profile.

After the reunion was over I posted a survey which several people took but it's not on this site anymore.  I may have the actual results at home and will look. In the meantime, I do remember that several people mentioned they would have liked to have had a picnic or some kind of family get together for the kids. I agree.  We could not have afforded that last time but if we plan for it in the initial cost, I'm sure it's doable. I learned A LOT from the last go 'round!!

We did not hire a photographer last time - the pictures were fine but mostly candid shots. Something I think we should consider.

Let me know what you need from me...I'm happy to do as much or as little as you would like.

Again - excited!!

Nikky
