Michael Douglas Welch, Jr.

March 5, 1970 - Jan. 23 2009
 
Michael was survived by his wife Aime Welch, three daughters Haley Nicole Welch, Emma Welch, Taylor Caren Welch, his mother Linda Burgess, father Michael D. Welch Sr., brother James Welch, and his sister Nickie McLeod. Michael served his country in the U.S. Navy and was an electricains mate on the U.S.S. Aubrey Fitch stationed at Mayport Flordia. He was a great family man and was always trying to make people laugh and smile.  Michael left his mark on this earth in the hearts of his many friends and family who will deeply miss him and never forget him. He definitely made the world a better place. Thanks Michael we love you!

Graveside services for Michael D. Welch Jr., 39, of Lafayette, Ga., formerly of Jacksonville, were at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Rev. Bob McLeod officiated.

Survivors include his wife, Aime Nelson Welch of LaFayette; three daughters, Taylor Caren Welch and Emma Frances Welch of LaFayette and Haley Nicole Welch of Weaver; his father, Michael D. Welch Sr., of Jacksonville; his mother, Linda Dale Burgess of Jacksonville; a sister, Nickie McLeod of Jacksonville; a brother, James Franklin Welch of Jacksonville and grandmother, Daisey Welch of Weaver.

Mr. Welch was a 1989 graduate of Jacksonville High School and was formerly employed at United Defense and Shaw Industries. He served his country in the U.S. Navy for four years as an electrician’s mate on the U.S.S. Aubrey Fitch in Jacksonville, Fla.
